Do you want to work on a product that truly improves people’s lives? Do you want to work on a small team with exceptionally talented people? We’re looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to join the OkCupid Product Team in New York City.

As a Growth Hacker, you’ll be responsible for building the interface that millions use to meet new people. You’ll play a key role in developing and optimizing new and existing features on the OkCupid site.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with designers, software engineers, and other developers
• Take features from the design stage through to production
• Write and optimize Object Oriented JavaScript for new and existing interface components

What you need to land an interview

• Experience working in a collaborative development environment (if you’re from another high-traffic site, even better!)
• Serious knowledge of JavaScript, even without libraries
• You dream in CSS and you know all of the tricks (the IE-saving ones too)
• Basic familiarity with the UNIX command line
• Experience with SVN or Git

What we’re expecting

• You use OkCupid (or have in the past) and love the product
• You’re a highly technical problem-solver, but you appreciate and understand great design
• You’re meticulous, but still able to iterate quickly
• You have a portfolio (which you probably built yourself) of projects you’ve worked on (some of which are self-started)
